One of the only quickest oil paintings I've made, this piece challenged me to layer FAST. Much faster than I am used to, but the challenge has only made me a better painter.

For the subject, I chose to feature a skull, interweaved with live flowers. I was inspired by the contrast of life and death that appears in the visuals of the Día de los Muertos celebration, as well as the branding of the Grateful Dead.
