This drawing was an exploration of transitioning from complete darkness, and utilizing highlights to bring the picture into focus.
Referencing a heavily shadowed photograph of my friend, Tolossa Hassan, I colored the entire page with black charcoal. I then utilized my eraser, as well as white charcoal, to bring the picture into light.
